A Note from Nick!

Manhattan County Democratic Committee Member AD 71 – ED 1 & Candidate for Alternate Judicial Delegat

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Allow me to introduce myself, I am Nick Lyndon, your neighbor on Payson Avenue, my family’s home for over 26 years. I am now retired, but I was a Broadway Stagehand and Crew Head for well over 40 years; a proud union member of Stagehands Local One, IATSE.

Some of you may recognize me as that guy from the Green Market who gives away free copies of the U.S. Constitution, collects Ballot Petition signatures for candidates and talks about STUFF that you might want to know about. I am a member of the Manhattan County Democratic Committee and although the Party doesn’t define it the way I do, I think my job is to be available and helpful to folks with a question. I don’t pretend to know everything but I will promise to try to find you an answer or point you toward someone who does know.

I believe passionately in small D democracy and the idea that if we take care of enough of the small D problems the Big D issues will follow. One of those issues is picking our Judges and if you elect me as one of the Judicial Delegates it gets YOU a say in choosing who is a Judge. The process is arcane and not nearly as transparent as I would like, but I believe it can work. Ask me about it. I expect to be around and talking as we approach the Primary.

Which gets me to my main point. I am running for Alternate Judicial Delegate, a position that many people have never heard of, and I would very much appreciate your vote in the upcoming Democratic Primary. I am part of the slate endorsed by Senator Robert Jackson and Assembly Member Al Taylor.

On your ballot, please vote for Group One for both Delegate and Alternate Delegate to the Judicial Convention. We are the slate of candidates endorsed by Senator Robert Jackson and Assembly Member Al Taylor as well as Uptown Community Democratics, Tioga Carver Democratic Club, and Audubon Reform Democratic Club.

And last but far from least, please vote for your Incumbent 71st Assembly District Member Al Taylor for re-election. “He’s not new to us. He’s true to us.”
